WHY DOES A BROAD SUPPLIER BASE MATTER?
The University of Florida is committed to fostering a competitive supplier base by engaging with a wide range of businesses to support procurement needs. A core purchasing principle at UF and throughout the state of Florida is to ensure access to qualified businesses offering a variety of products and services. SBR supports UF’s procurement efforts by working with departments, academic units, and procurement buyers to identify and engage suppliers for Requests for Information (RFIs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and Invitations for Bids (IFBs). This process helps ensure that UF has access to a broad network of suppliers capable of meeting the university’s operational needs.
SBR provides the following services to the University of Florida campus and user departments:
- Assist in efforts to increase utilization of a robust supplier base
- Supplier registration assistance
- Sourcing assistance
- Ensure understanding of ethical business standards
